“Of all the books in the world, the best stories are found between the pages of a passport.” – Anonymous

Hey everyone! My name is Nicole and this is where you can find out more about me and my love of travel.

Who am I really?

So I am originally from Nova Scotia, Canada but I have been living in New Jersey, USA for the past 4 years and I work full time as a veterinarian. However, I have a constant travel lust that I can never seem to satisfy. I want to experience what the world has to offer, learn about new cultures, and as Elizabeth Gilbert says, “I want to marvel at something.” Since I was young I have loved nature, wildlife, travel, and the feeling you get when you go somewhere for the first time and experience the newness of it, the excitement and thrill of the unknown. I have been seeking that feeling ever since.

Developing a wanderlust

I have always enjoyed being in nature, experiencing what it has to offer but my lust for travel has grown throughout the years from simple camping trips, to sojourns in the Caribbean, to full on excursions to Europe and Africa. I get that travel rush every time nature shows me something new, whether it be in Yellowstone, hiking Mount Katahdin or snorkeling in Turks and Caicos. I am constantly looking to experience new things from nature to culture to a spiritual connection through yoga or a deeper connection through volunteering in other countries. Through the years I have traveled to various locations, always drawn by something different, be it history, food or hiking and I hope to share those moments with you.

My hopes for the future

I have many travel plans in mind for the future, including a yoga retreat in the Catskills of NY, a trip to Greece, and hiking the Mighty 5 parks in Utah and many plans to work with various volunteer organizations, including Mission Rabies, Habitat for Humanity, Woofing and Vets without Borders. But do you know what my biggest travel goals are? I want to hike the Camino, all 1600 km, the Inca Trail and the 100 mile wilderness. I want to hike to base camp of Everest and scale as many mountains as possible. Needless to say I have a long list of adventures planned. If there is anything you would like to see on my blog, if you like a post or hate a post please let me know. You can either comment directly on the posts or go to my “Contact Me” page. This blog is something I consider to be a work in progress, an ever changing thing as it evolves into what I hope is something wonderful.
