Best time to visit

The best time to visit Turks and Caicos is during the winter months from December to the end of March. Though the temperatures are fairly consistent year round, it heats up a bit in summer and then you have to contend with hurricane season in late summer and fall.

Best restaurants in Turks and Caicos

Along Grace Bay Beach and Grace Bay Road are a ton of restaurants to choose from. All of the serving fresh seafood dishes and many offering fresh local ingredients, it is hard to go wrong. So, depending on if you are looking for casual dining options, a romantic dinner, or a memorable dining experience, there are options for everyone.

Coco Bistro

Address: Grace Bay TKCA 1ZZ, Turks & Caicos Islands

This restaurant provides outdoor dining amidst the largest palm trees grove on the island. It’s a little bit of a walk away from the main Grace Bay road and beach area, but it is definitely worth checking out. It is more expensive than other places, but they use some of the freshest local ingredients and offer daily specials that are worth checking out.

Infiniti restaurant & raw bar

Address: Bonaventure Cres, Grace Bay TKCA 1ZZ, Turks & Caicos Islands

Located in the Grace Bay Club, this fine dining restaurant is one of those Turks and Caicos restaurants you visit on a special occasion (unless of course you are not worried about your budget). Dinner is from 6-9pm and they also have a Japanese speakeasy and the dinner menu is pretty extensive.

Da Conch Shack

Address: Blue Hills Rd, TKCA 1ZZ, Turks & Caicos Islands

This is a favorite of locals and tourists alike. This food truck style “shack” on the beach is one of the best places to get conch salad on the island. They work with local fisherman to get fresh conch and offer it with outdoor seating right on the beach. It’s a great beach bar to hang out at.

Local Fish Fry

Going to the local fish fry is by far the best way to sample fresh local seafood and Caribbean flavors in a casual atmosphere. Every Thursday from 5:30-9:30pm at Stubb’s Diamond Plaza in the Bight, local restaurants set up and offer a variety of menu items set to the backdrop of live music. It is a unique experience and a must do. Here you have the opportunity to sample conch fritters (one of my absolute favorites), conch salad (my other favorite) and local lobster, along with other good food. And you can also get a rum punch in a coconut as the perfect complement to your meal.

This was my favorite way to eat and explore the culinary scene on the island and also get some of the island style live entertainment.

Concluding Thoughts

With so many dining options it’s a good reason to come back year after year. Each restaurant’s menu offers a variety of fresh seafood and local ingredients in those Caribbean styles we all love.
