Privacy Policy Information

Who am I?

I’m Nicole, founder of https://wanderingwithadromomaniac.com. I do not collect personal information about individuals, such as names, mailing and email addresses unless it is knowingly provided it. You can access this site without disclosing any of your personal information. I respect your privacy and am committed to protecting it. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you what personally identifiable information I may collect and how it may be used.

What personal data does this site collect and why?

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, I will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, I will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen option cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Third party cookies

Some content or applications, including advertisements, on this website are served by third-parties, including advertisers, ad networks and servers, content providers, and application providers. These third parties may use cookies alone or in conjunction with web beacons or other tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use our website.

The information they collect may be associated with your personal information or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content.

I do not control these third parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly.

How long do I hold onto your data?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights do you have over your information?

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where do I send your data?

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How I protect your data

I employ commercially reasonable methods to ensure the security of the information you provide to me and the information I collect automatically. This includes using standard security protocols and working only with reputable third-party vendors.

I may use software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing the number of visitors to the different sections of my site, what information is of most and least interesting, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.

For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, I use software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.

Visitors’ GDPR rights

If you are within the European Union, you are entitled to certain information and have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation. Those rights include:

  • I will retain any information you choose to provide to me until the earlier of: (a) you asking me to delete the information, (b) my decision to cease using our existing data providers, or (c) I decide that the value in retaining the data is outweighed by the costs of retaining it.
  • You have the right to request access to your data that I store and the rights to either rectify or erase your personal data.
  • You have the right to seek restrictions on the processing of your data.
  • You have the right to object to the processing of your data and the right to the portability of your data.
  • To the extent that you provided consent to the processing of your personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based upon consent that occurred prior to your withdrawal of consent.
  • You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority that has jurisdiction over issues related to the General Data Protection Regulation.

I require only the information that is reasonably required to enter into a contract with you. I will not require you to provide consent for any unnecessary processing as a condition of entering into a contract with me.

Should you wish to have your information deleted, please email us at [email protected] and submit a request.
